Admissions Policy

Welcome! Thank you for your interest in St. Joseph Catholic School 
in the upcoming 2017-18 school year. 
As openings become available, the following priorities will be used to accept students to St. Joseph Catholic School: 
1. Members of St. Joseph Catholic School with siblings already in attendance 
2. Members of St. Joseph Parish 
3. Members of other parishes newly registering in school 
4. Non-Catholic students 
A student entering Transitional Kindergarten must be (5) years by March 31st
A student entering Kindergarten must be five (5) years of age on or before September 1st. Students will be assessed to determine readiness before acceptance into the Kindergarten program. 
A student must be (6) years of age on or before September 1st of the current school year, in order to be considered for enrollment.
 At the time of registration, at any grade level, parents/guardians are to bring: 
 Birth Certificate (original) 
 Baptismal Certificate (Catholic applicants only)  
 Immunization records 
For those entering grades 1-8 :
 A copy of the previous grade level report card 
 Most recent Standardized Achievement Test Results 
 A letter of recommendation from their previous teacher 
Placement tests are administered to all incoming students. All new students will be given a trial period of not less than one semester in which to prove himself/herself both socially and academically. If during this trial period there are any problems, a student may be asked to withdraw his/her attendance at St. Joseph Catholic School. The recommendation and decision of the school is final. 
All previous financial and volunteer service hour responsibilities must be completed before a family returning to St. Joseph Catholic School will be accepted for the new academic year. 
No child will be deprived of a Catholic education at St. Joseph Catholic School for financial reasons alone. There 
must, however, be consultation and a demonstration of good faith on the part of the parents
